Hi guys, I am new here from pakistan. Since 2009 no international team visited pakistan. However World 11 and british army cricket teams visited pakistan and they are fully satisfied about security. Now pakistan is launching pakistan premier league in march 2013. I hope it will help pakistan to bring international cricket back. What you think about this move of pcb?

Pakistan Premier League (PPL) - 2013
According to an official close to the working committee of the PPL, the opening and closing ceremonies have been set for March 25 and April 10 next year respectively. If the event goes ahead as per the tentative schedule, the knockout stages are certain to clash with the Indian Premier League (IPL) that starts from April 3.
However, the official hoped the PCB will not be on the losing end due to the clash with the multi-star IPL.
“We didn’t have much choice,” the official told The Express Tribune. “The window after the South Africa tour is the only period available as per the Future Tour Programme.”
South Africa cricket board refused to reschedule the dates for the Pakistan series, which includes three Tests, five One-Day Internationals and two Twenty20s between February 1 and March 24, 2013.
However, the official said the discussions were made with the broadcasters and sponsors during the PPL committee’s visit to Dubai along with PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf.
“Broadcasters and sponsors have not shown any reservations. They have given a thumbs-up to the schedule. Only a few matches are coinciding. The IPL will stretch for nearly two months and the clash will not create much problems for us.
“Even if the leagues have common stars, they will just miss one or two IPL matches. We are now keeping our fingers crossed.”
The PCB is targeting 30 international cricketers, including five ‘super stars’ for each of team in the league.
Meanwhile, the official added that PCB was receiving a warm response from leading firms of the country and from abroad.
He said the PCB will take services of leading auditing firms to make the process of selling franchises.

The schedule of PPL 2013 is not announced yet but the PCB Committee has confirmed the set date to be after South Africa 2013 tour on March 15 2013. The teams and schedule however are still undecided due to conflict with IPL 2013 as well. Most teams participating in Faysal Bank T20 Cup are likely to join the league. As per initial confirmation by Zaka Ashraf 30 matches between five teams will be played during the tournament and each team will be allowed to field three international players during a match. Once the teams and players are finalized, the schedule will be announced as well. Use the search below to filter matches by venues, teams or timings. Pakistan Premier League might clash with Indian Premier League in 2013
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made a tentative schedule of Pakistan Premier League (PPL). It might start from 25 March 2013 and end on 10 April 2013. If this tentative schedule remains intact, PPL will clash with Indian Premier League.
As IPL starts from the 3 April 2013, the knockout stages of PPL will clash with the opening matches.

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Zaka Ashraf has announced that Pakistan Premier League (PPL) will be held in March next year.
A PCB meeting was held to discuss the schedule of the PPL, and according to sources the event will go on for 15 days, the News reports.
While addressing the media, Ashraf made it clear that the league would be successful only if international players take part in it, and added that several top cricketers have already been contacted.
Ashraf also expressed hoped that international cricket would return to Pakistan soon, it said.

Lahore, Oct 27: The PCB is committed to launching its own domestic Twenty20 competition along the lines of the Indian Premier League next year despite Cricket South Africa's (CSA) refusal to reschedule Pakistan's forthcoming tour to the country. PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf on Friday said that the Pakistan Premier League (PPL) will be played in March 2013 and a request has already been made to the chief patron of the board, President Asif Ali Zardari to allow a five-year tax exemption for the event. "There is a lot of foreign and local investment involved in holding this event and I have already requested the President to allow us the tax exemption as the Pakistan League will create job opportunities and will be good for our economy and image," said Ashraf. "We just need a two-week window even though the Indian Premier League will also start from first week of April. We have already started groundwork for the project," he added. Ashraf returned from Dubai this morning after attending a series of meetings in connection with the PPL. He said the PPL will feature five franchises consisting of 30 international players, with six each in every team. "We are targeting the big names of international cricket because their presence will boost the PPL and we are preparing a budget of millions for this. "The Sialkot sports industry is keen to buy a franchise, someone like Mian Mansha is also ready to have his own franchise. The local and expatriate business community in the UAE also wants in, so we are well prepared for the event," he said. The PCB chief is keen on making the event an annual affair. "We have our own mechanism to hold the PPL but I can say that we have taken inspiration from the IPL. May be, one day the PPL franchise can be part of the IPL as well," he said. The chairman said the tax exemption has been sought to make the Twenty20 league a financially successful model till it became self-reliant and to ensure the top players could be paid competitive sums for coming to Pakistan. He also hoped that the international cricket could be revived as early as next year following the successful staging of two exhibition matches in Karachi involving an International World XI and Pakistan All Star XI. For that to happen, Ashraf was commited towards providing best security measures to the overseas players. "We have set up our own anti-vigilance and security divisions and we are also in close contact with the government as far as security arrangements for the tournament is concerned," he said. PTI
